CLIENT BACKGROUND
Independent secondary school | ~1,400 students and staff | Manchester, United Kingdom
THE CHALLENGE
The school’s IT infrastructure had not been updated in over five years. The campus Wi-Fi was unreliable in classroom blocks, the device management system was outdated and unable to push updates to student laptops consistently, and the two-person IT team was spending most of their time on reactive helpdesk tickets rather than on any kind of proactive maintenance. The school had committed to a digital learning strategy for the following academic year but the infrastructure could not support it.
THE STECHAD SOLUTION
Stechad carried out a campus network survey, replaced and repositioned access points across all teaching buildings, and configured a centralised device management system that allowed remote updates and monitoring across all 600 student and staff devices. Stechad then took over the helpdesk function entirely, allowing the internal IT team to focus on the digital learning project. A term-time support rota was put in place to ensure coverage during peak periods including exam seasons.
