THE CHALLENGE
The retailer had expanded from eight to twenty-four stores over three years but had not updated its IT infrastructure to match the growth. Point of sale systems were running on different software versions across stores, creating reporting inconsistencies and occasional payment processing failures. Two stores had experienced complete POS outages during peak trading days, resulting in significant lost revenue. The IT team at head office had no visibility into the health of in-store systems until something broke.
THE STECHAD SOLUTION
Stechad standardised the POS environment across all twenty-four stores, migrating every location to the same software version and configuring centralised monitoring so the head office IT team had real-time visibility into system health across the entire estate. Engineers visited the six highest-risk stores for on-site remediation work. A cloud-based inventory and sales synchronisation system was also implemented, replacing the manual end-of-day reconciliation process that had been causing reporting delays. Stechad established a dedicated retail IT support line with a one-hour response SLA for any in-store incident.
